Despite being a very small country, Albania is rich in cultural heritage. Away from Tirana’s nightlife, and beaches of the Albanian Riviera, there’s a wonderful traditional side to Albania that visitors rarely see. It is time for Albania’s rich cultural heritage to be revealed to the world. There are 3 towns protected by UNESCO: Berati, Butrinti and Gjirokastra.
Additionally, a number of Albanian entries are part of UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage like the Albanian iso-polyphony, and the xhubleta, an item of ancient Albanian highlighland clothing.
