You can reach Albania by air, road or sea.

Flying

If you arrive by plane, you will most probably land at the Nënë Tereza International Airport.
Direct flights to it are available from many European cities, as well as Israel and Turkey. If you’re travelling from another continent, you will need to have a layover. There are no direct flights available from North America, South America, Africa or Australia.

The main International Airport, Nene Tereza airport is easily accessible from Tirana or other cities by taxi or shuttle bus.

LU-NA shpk offers an hourly shuttle service from TIA to Tirana and vice versa from 06:00 tp 24:00. The bus is stationed behind the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The rate for a single fare is 400 Albanian Lek and the journey takes 30 minutes. There is also a shuttle service to Durres, Fier and Vlore. More information can be found here.

Kukës International Airport Zayed-North Wings (Aeroporti Ndërkombëtar i Kukësit Zayed-Flatrat e Veriut is the second international airport in Albania. The city is rapidly being seen as a destination of the Northern region of Albania, Kosovo included.

It is located 3.5 km (2.2 mi) south of the city of Kukës.

The fastest way to get to KFZ is by taxi which is accessible in all cities and urban areas. The service is provided by Airport Taxi. We would recommend that passengers use only licensed taxis.


Road

All the land borders are open into Albania from the neighbouring countries are open. eighbouring countries may have different entry and exit restrictions on their side of the border. Please obtain prior information before travelling. You can find all the land border crossings here.


Sea

Another popular ways of reaching Albania is by ferry. Most of them depart from Italy, and sometimes Greece and arrive at either Durrës, Vlorë or Sarandë.

Ferries for Durrës leave from Ancona, Bari and Trieste. There are ferries from Brindisi to Vlorë and Sarandë.

There’s also a connection between Sarandë and Corfu in Greece. Italian ferry operators are Adria Ferries, Adriatica di Navigazione, Azzurra Line, Venezia Lines and Ilion Lines. The prices depend on the number of passengers, whether you have a vehicle or not and the time of year.
Albania is accessible by several seaports. They are all located on the eastern side of the Adriatic and Ionian Sea.

Durrës Port is the main seaport of Albania located on the coast of the Adriatic Sea approximately 30 kilometers to the west of Tirana.

Other ports in Albania are those in Vlora, Saranda and Shëngjini. They have direct connections with various ports in Italy and Greece.

Vlora is located in the southern part of Albania on the Adriatic Sea. The Vlora Port is the biggest port of the south serving as a transit way not just for Albania, but also Kosovo, Macedonia and Bulgaria, allowing for access of commercial ships and ferries.

The Port of Saranda, is the only one located in the south of Albania on the Ionian Sea.

The Port of Shëngjin is located in the northwestern part of Albania on the Adriatic Sea. It is expected to serve the north and northeast parts of the country as well as to expand commercial activities with Kosovo.
