Long associated with the Fushe-Peshtan village and the surrounding rolling hills, the native red grape variety Serina has been cultivated and used for centuries to produce some of the unique finest wines. Synonyms are Black Serina, Serina Black and Serine e Zeze. In addition, the varieties Serina e Zeze Prisha, Serina Landare, Serina e Drenoves and Shesh i Zi were identified as independent varieties. The early-maturing vine is cultivated in the Korça area in the southeast of Albania.
