The Lead Mosque is one of the most significant monumental cultural monuments in Shkodra. It is a first category monument, built in 1773 by Mehmet Bushati an Albanian coming from Bushatllinj tribal family and vizier of Patriarchy of Shkodra. The mosque is located inside the city of Shkodra. It represents a unique example of classical architecture monuments of the city and an enclosed courtyard, covered by a dome with fine arcades and decorated columns.

Among the numerous buildings built in the city by order of various rulers, the mosque is the only building that has an exact date of construction - 1773.

The peculiarity of this mosque is the use of liquid lead as a binding solution between elements. Besides, it is multi-domed and does not have a single minaret, which is a complete deviation from the standards of construction of religious buildings of Muslim architecture. From the 18th century and over the following centuries, the building was repeatedly vandalized, and the lead domes were plundered more than once. The mosque withstood even the massive destruction during the communist regime, and it was among the first religious institutions welcoming the muslim believers practicing their faith.
